Where Craft Meets Cinema: Gaggenau’s Immersive Brunch at ADFF 2025 In Toronto

The Toronto Gaggenau Showroom set the stage for an inspiring morning on Saturday, November 15, as design, film, and culinary artistry came together for Gaggenau’s exclusive Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF) brunch. Over 60 members of the local design and creative industries gathered for an elevated experience that shined the spotlight on craftsmanship, culture, and meaningful connection.

Guests were welcomed into the Gaggenau showroom to honour the film, We The Others, a documentary capturing the legacy of Brazilian brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana—award-winning furniture designers and co-founders of Estudio Campana. Their philosophy, rooted in material honesty and the belief that design has the power to unite and uplift communities, closely aligns with Gaggenau’s own values. Their story is a powerful reminder that creativity is not merely aesthetic; it is emotional, empathetic, and deeply human.

The brunch showcased a beautifully crafted menu by Chef Michele Pollack and her team – Chef Craig Paiva, Chef Xanthe, and Chef Dao. Each dish reflected Gaggenau’s distinctive design principles through thoughtful contrasts in texture and form. Ahi Noir Tostada, Herbed Devilled Eggs, Checkerboard Cucumber Bites, and Midnight Blini were accented with touches of black to evoke depth and refinement, while silver-toned cutlery subtly reinforced the event’s materiality theme.

Following the brunch, guests were transported to the TIFF Bell Lightbox for the film screening. Custom Gaggenau snack trays added a thoughtful, personalized touch. Each screening during ADFF opened with Gaggenau’s atmospheric brand film, offering a rare first look at the brand’s forthcoming Expressive Series cavity wall oven – the next evolution in craftmanship and design, set to launch early next year.

Conversations flowed, connections deepened, and the atmosphere reflected a shared appreciation for design, storytelling, and forward-thinking ideas. By combining design, artful bites, and film, Gaggenau created an immersive experience that celebrated creativity, innovation, and the art of living well—an approach that continues to inspire the city’s design-minded community.
