The location of the site in Chandigarh, India, as well as the local craft and the new build opportunity were what attracted the team to the project.
Chandigarh is the capital of the northern states of Punjab and Haryana and is renowned for its architecture and urban design with many of its government buildings and housing designed by a team led by Swiss-French architect, Le Corbusier. The city’s Capitol Complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Offering a better presentation experience
Enscape is a real-time visualization and virtual reality plugin for popular design modeling software such as Revit, SketchUp, and Rhino. It offers a variety of ways to share 3D rendered designs, from a 360-degree Panorama Gallery to video exports to Virtual Reality, which are useful ways to curate your rendered designs for a better presentation experience.
Viewport Studio’s Director, Gautier Pelegrin, shares how the use of video presentations helped the client to visualize movement throughout the house despite not being in the actual building.
“We used video all the time. The clients loved it. It allowed us to create a walkthrough of the design and it helped the client to visualize movement throughout the house. During our meetings, we could show via screen sharing what the textures would look like. Any feedback they had we could easily make amendments.”
The ability to move around the virtual space enabled the client to make the right decisions for their future home.

Evaluating design concepts with instant visualization
The site of the house is in front of a large garden park called Rose Garden. For their future family home, the client wished to retain privacy but also have views of the park. With the client’s requests in mind, Viewport Studio ensured the ideas they proposed concealed the building’s presence from the park but also considered the relation of the house to the park.

“We worked on a lot of textures for the external finish on the house. The client wanted to see different finishes on the house and how it will interact during the day with light, so we used Enscape’s instant visualization capabilities to showcase this.”
The interior furniture used in the project was both custom designs and Enscape assets. Enscape features an Asset Library with over 3000 high-quality 3D assets including a selection of furniture, accessories, people, and more.
The project was completed in April 2022.
