Visonary architect Arthur Erickson helped define Vancouver – and other cities around the world – with his striking and unparalleled designs. Beauty Between the Lines chronicles the highs and lows of Arthur’s personal and professional life, featuring intimate interviews, unseen archival footage and an exploration of his architectural masterpieces.

In their shadows, he lived another life as a gay man. Some say his partner and frequent collaborator, interior designer Francisco Kripacz, was the catalyst to his financial difficulties, but he was the true love of Arthur’s life. Delving into both his genius and shortcomings, the film reveals a man who transcended traditional boundaries, who fused art, culture and nature, and in the process, redefined modern architecture.
